***John Ganton’s Countryside is currently seeking enthusicastic Medical Assistants to join our team ***

Professional Summary – An experienced and well-qualified Medical Assistant with a thorough working knowledge of resident care legislation, including good practice, and health and safety standards. Experience in the care of the elderly. Able to carry out all aspects of the role from assisiting direct care staff with medical questions and training, record keeping, resident medical records, doctor visits, prescription orders, new admissions, passing medication, and all task as assigned by Director of Nursing. Able and willing to work according to a schedule and a rotation, including on-call as needed.

Job responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:

  • Using computer applications
  • Welcoming residents
  • Updating and filing residents medical records
  • Coding and filling out insurance forms
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services
  • Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping
  • Administering medication
  • Caring for all aspects of residents health and wellbeing
  • Treatments
  • Working with residents’ physicians for optimal care
  • Supervising direct care staff
  • Transcribing physician’s orders
  • Emergency medical care
  • Interacting with resident families

Qualifications:

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification in the state of MI

  • Available to work weekends as needed and some holidays
  • Leadership skills
